The C Class is still quite a sizeable car, heavy too. And I don't think Mercs could ever be accused of being nimble.[TW]Fox;25011549 said:Smaller and more nimble than a C Class Merc, itself not a particularly large car, yet tackles long journeys with a family in comfort?

I'm after something smaller and more nimble.

I agree and if I was looking for a saloon a C63 would definitely be on the list. When I said I was looking for something smaller and more nimble I didn't mean another saloon/estate.[TW]Fox;25011845 said:I really don't agree, it's about as small as you'd reaosnably want a saloon to go.
When did he say he wants a saloon?
I'm thinking about sports cars with a bit of practicality rather than hot hatches.Small/Nimble?
Audi S3/Golf R32? How much smaller then a C-Class would you like to go?

Edit: Chris beat me to it.

Sounds to me like he needs Cayman S.
How practical is a Caymen S? It's a 2 door with not much room for even a bike unless bike racks are his kind of thing.
Sports cars I suppose. What else is left if you don't want another Saloon/Estate and not a 5 door hatch either?
I don't need to carry bikes, just a suitcase and a hold-all or two for holidays and weekends away. How practical is a Caymen S? It's a 2 door with not much room for even a bike unless bike racks are his kind of thing.
Boxster S is also a consideration but I'm wary of soft tops after what happened with my 911's roof. From what I know he doesn't need that level of practicality, but more in the area of enough storage for him and his girlfriend for when he occasionally makes a jaunt up/down the country. I think something Boxster size would suit this perfectly whilst ticking the sports car box. Problem is, he likes his straight line poke and I'm not sure if the Porsche will deliver on this front.
I don't like the Z4's looks but I hadn't considered one of the quicker TTs. Good call.Z4M?
TT-S / TT-RS?
I was kidding. I'd never bolt a turbo onto something that wasn't designed to take one.All well and good but what kind of potential headaches come from tuning to that level? Personally, not for me I don't think.
