Just a handy tip i learnt on this forum for those not wishing to spend £45 on a charger - you can charge your ps3 pad with your sky/virgin box, and your pads will charge even with the ps3 off. My pad charges from my VM box

I thought this was common knowledge, you can charge stuff from anything that has a USB port, provided power is going to it.

This thing look alright but only a mug would pay £45 odd, it's £10 at most, it's pointless really.

I just place it on my TV stand, what is this point of this stand?

Surely having the controller next to your chair/bed is best as thats where you want it when you game, who wants to have to walk over to the TV to pick up a controller?

Bloody hell that is actually a massivly helpfull thing to know. Now wondering if my TV would charge it too as that has usb ports.

it will, so will your pc etc, anything USB port will charge it

You need to stipulate the fact that the device needs to be switched on, otherwise we'd just use the PS3. Hence why VM/Sky boxes work well, as they're never switched off.
