Hey guys,

Quick question, did anyone previously use these and move on to something more expensive that lets more oxygen in?

If so, was it worth the cash? I always seem to have red bloodshot eyes :(

I use the vusion lenses from specsavers (used to be the elite) as I need v flexible ones for my slightly larger than normal eyes. Have been tempted to see what else I can get as sometimes even these can be uncomfy.

I use monthly ones as the dailies made my eyes hurt more, if you use a decent fluid like biotrue then monthly ones can be better in my experience.

also lol at boots £25 a month they wanted for my lenses, when if you look online you can buy them for £30 for 3 months worth, contact lens plans are so expensive

I agree and month ones work out cheaper if you keep them clean and what not.

Specsavers will give you a free contact lenses trial if you book an appointment

I went from specsavers monthlys to Acuvue fortnightly and then tried the Acuvue Trueye dailies and it just made my eyes uncomfortable... so I went back to fortnightly which I am still using for the past 2 years... but I like the idea of using dailys - are extended wear better than dailys?

try monthly extended wear, I get 6 weeks out of mine

brilliant

I am going to need something soon as I cant even read these days. cba with glasses but dont fancy the hassle of contacts, sorry if this sounds daft as I know nothing, with monthlies do I just put them in and thats it for a month ?

not that bothered re cost just want a quiet life

Honestly, dailies just become part of your life, you don't even realise you're doing it after a while ^^

I have tablets I am meant to take every day and I cant even remember that, also the thought of putting contacts in horrifies me

In effect yes, once they are in they stop in. I tend to take mine out every 2 weeks just clean them in solution and give my eyes a few hours rest, Then put them back in for another 2 weeks. And then a full days rest before i start with the new pair, after the month is up.

But you don't have to do this if you do not want.

I use http://gbp.getlenses.nl/contact-lenses/extended-wear/monthly/purevision2hd.html Yes the HD may sound like a gimmick, but they do actually give me a clearer image. And if you are new customer you get £10 off, then if you use a cash back site you get even more off.

sounds like they may be the way to go then

be careful with extended wear ones i.e day and night as they carry more risks for your eyes, I read something that says it increases the risk of a corneal ulcer by 9x compared to normal contacts

I've worn extended wear for around 6 years, I never give my eyes a rest and often keep the same pair in for 6 weeks. I have never had a problem with my eyes.
They are super cheap compared to ones you have to take out and clean too.
