Speed upgrade

strange one.

on aol silver which is 512kpbs, was due an upgrade at around the end of march to 1meg.

Today I was switching off the computer and it stalled on the 'windows is shutting down your computer' screen. i reset and all went as it should, i reconnected to aol and i could hardly believe what i saw. on the connection status i was running at 2.2mbps!!!

why has this happened?

help appreciated.

i was due an upgrade to 1mb. not 2.

i know that seems the obvious explanation but is just seems to good to be true.

maybe im being paranoid, got bitten once with dialer years ago.

Can you download at 1Mbps or 2Mbps, and if the latter, will you still be able to do it in a few days/weeks?
The bulk upgrade scheme meant you'd get upgraded to the fastest your connection would do (or 2Mbps, whichever was lowest). Whether your ISP then reduces your throughput to 1Mbps is up to them.

got bitten once with dialer years ago.

No dialers on ADSL.
