I've normally only had the standard office shoe for indoors, but since I've become a train yuppy I've picked up those office shoes with the beige rubber sole thinking they'd be better in the cold but they still slip and skid.

Anyone recommend an office shoe with good outdoor grip?

[I don't want to wear trainers carry my shoes as I don't take a bag or anything these days, and I can't leave them in the office in case I'm working at a different site the next day.]

Could always try safety shoes, the ones for slip resistance have a very large surface area sole with many edges.

But nothing short of spikes gives a proper grip on sheet ice.
Those are very... special :p
Why not get the rubber oversoles you can slip on them?

Something like those.
Oh, I didnt know something like this existed. Interesting approach! Thank you

Edit: not half bad actually, could even wear my christian louboutin without worrying. Nice one :)

Edit2: bah, don't go tp my size, could maybe try to stretch them

How can you think the above quoted shoes are 'special' and then think wearing those ridiculous rubber things over your shoes is ok...

Your local Timpsons can put some decent soles on. I bought some nice shoes last year but hated the soles.
They were actually leather ones (never again) and was like wearing ice skates.

Pair of Mephisto's I have are great for grip(like a very hard rubber sole) and comfort, but, it seems, no longer cheap

On the basis that vibram soles are bullet/slip proof scarpa https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scarpa-Mojito-Basic-GTX-black/dp/B017VO1TUM

Used to buy clarks nature, until threy far-easted them.

I’ve found that Vibram and similarly patterned soles aren’t great on tiled flooring when it’s wet. Both my old Merrell and my Meindls used to slip and slide all over the place at Paddington station on wet days, especially around platforms 12, 13 and 14.

Thank you, unfortunately the below quote puts me off them.

Haha because I could remove them once at work.
