Spending half the value of a car on bodywork, am I mad?

firestarter is right.

with my old golf, i put whatever was needed into the mechanical to keep the car tip top. 17 years and 237k miles later it runs just fine but the bodywork is in tatters and the car has had to be retired because of that.

Do it. It's when your quoted more than the cost of the car to have bodywork sorted you have to wonder if its worth it. Had a quote of £600+vat per side to have the rear arches and rear of the sills sorted on my MX-5, only paid £1100 for it. Best get shopping around.

Failpost.

It might be prudent to watch your own posting style rather than policing everyone else's; I believe we have moderators for that.

Otherwise, we'll be watching your chums chiming in at every opportunity begging for you to get un-perma'd again :p

Not really, your reasoning was pretty poor, nothing to do with the mods.

I agree with janesy here. Your post was well negi sock.

a) looks are subjective
b) how much power do you think £700 will get you on a n/a engine
