I'm not bothered much by spiders, but it's nice to know that these yellow ones are harmless, but...

From article (clip there too):

"They cluster in groups of roughly 100 or more per sac, making it extremely creepy for those who hate spiders once the web explodes and there is a scramble of garden spiders on the loose.

It may not be so bad outside, but for those who find these garden spiders inside, it can be a nightmare if they all are let loose in the home."

Don't mind spiders as such, but I have just had to swat a bloody "something" (Wasp?) that was the size of my bloody thumb !

(Really, It was Big, Yellow and Black, and about 2" long!  )

If I see any more of these things I am going to want a black market AK or something! Mere fly spray aint going to do it! :(

Where you located?

Then I'll know to stay away from there.....

Slightly misleading description of 'exploding spiders' or is it just me? I had visions of one trundling across the ceiling and kabooming in the middle of the living room.

Another way of saying that these spiders are in groups of 100 and when disturbed, will spill out of their web, exploding out sounds good enough. Or?

SW Surrey! Nothing special!"

I caught one like this flying round the house this time last year. But having caught yet another one, the idea that their might be a bloody nest of the damn things in our vicinity scares the bejesus out of me! I Might be able to survive this but I have no doubt that a sting from something like this on my elderly (85 and not really very well) Mum would be fatal!

Garden spiders are great (and totally harmless). They get rid of all the flying pests of the lawn. Leave em be. You'll be thankful come crane fly season. :D

pfft these are just little cute babies

I wouldn't mind some in my garden or shed.

these on the other hand aren't technically spiders but creepy as ****
wow one of the related videos
