Spielberg's Falling Skies (TV Series)

IT is entirely awful everything that happened I just thought, my god, I wish they all died.

HMm, not sure when it airs so can't say much just, wow, everyone does everything that every other craply writen show would do.

It looks like people have mentioned it, ok, this is done so often it makes me want to fly out there and shoot some writers.

just no
Guy comes back having met and spoken with the aliens....... lets talk later? Lets talk later.... a writer even approached that as a possibility? Let's have the guy who can jump from a second story window, move really fast, and is super strong swim across the river later that night(when they are in a rush) rather than have him jump across the 2 metre gap they are already standing by? Really? I'm pretty sure most of them could have made the jump if not, one plank of wood and they'd all be across. They are being boxed in but they wait a day before they even start repairing it?

Sorry but it doesn't take a genius to know if you are being hunted and the overwhelming forces are only miles away, you get the scout across check the other side, and start moving people across instantly. Ben could have literally run over and back and they could have moved everything but the trucks across with a couple planks across that gap.

It's just unbelievable, unmentionably stupid at every possible turn. He might be a spy, they might have done mind control to him, but its okay we'll ask him about what happened later? There is some little thing we think might be a tracker.... theres dozens of people around doing almost nothing, we have no idea what this tech is, no one is put on duty to watch it, no one puts it in a more secure container. There isn't one thing in the entire episode that isn't stupid. Not least the drones not being able to spot their ridiculously obvious shanty town from the sky, nor the fact that they traveled at night masking the IR with fibreglass..... with their freaking headlights on which at night you could spot for miles. Its stupid, on top of stupid, filled with stupid, and writen badly too boot.

I have to agree, they have not bothered to be clever about the massive plot holes. I don't know if it's lazy or just impossible to write. I mean how can you write a long running show about being invaded when you would basically have no hope and die within one season.

They do stay still for far to long, and it is a stretch of the imagination to think that a drone or those robots couldn't have motion or IR scanners to spot them very very easily when they hide behind a car.

It's only saving grace for me is that it does seem to have a decent amount of fighting vs drama, and is progressing at a decent pace towards a conclusion. I can cast aside a small amount of disbelief for a story that sticks to its guns and gets somewhere. It is fiction after all.

What I like best about the show is the flag game

Looking out for the bit where they have an American Flag flapping in the breeze
or on a wall somewhere ..... God Bless America ... lol
