Spilt primer on carpet, woops!

Reminds me of the time I spilt candle wax on the carpet, and thought of the old wives advice to get it out; place newspaper over eax, warm iron over that to melt and draw wax out, forgot that the iron was on full blast and burnt a hole straight through the nylon carpet.

Luckily when the landlord came to inspect he didn't notice as I had a bucket of water over the burn mark, managed to get our deposit back, he he...

Pray it's water based...

Apply water from hose pipe or pour onto the carpet from a jug.
Hoover at the same time with wet vac..

As far as I see it you have 3 options.

1 - Replace the entire carpet
2 - Move appropriately sized furniture to cover stain.
3 - Cut out stain and replace missing area with cut out from underneath appropriately sized piece of furniture.

Well there is a 4th option but it involves fire and insurance fraud so I'll let your figure out the details.

Well, it dried because all of the stores were closed so white spirits etc was not an option. Going to call the DIY place this morning quickly followed by, I suspect, a visit to a place that sells rugs.

I did have 4 sheets down but I stepped back on to a 10 litre can of the stuff and it toppled. Sucks

Heh, I'd guess half a litre actually made it to the carpet. If it had been all 10 I would have told the missus nothing, quietly slipped out the back door and done a Lord Lucan
