SPL to have 2nd Division

Done a search and can't find this posted anywhere yet.

It looks like SPL have given the go ahead to create a new 10 2nd Division.

I can't personally see how it could help Scottish Football. It'll just make the better off clubs better off and the poorer ones will stop existing all together. Seems a sorry state of affairs to me.

they can.. nothing stopping them working their way up... oh yes.. thats right thats the problem isnt it.. they want a free ticket into the premiership without working for it...
 
Exaclty, I think the other premierleague clubs may have something to say. I would annoy too many people so they can stay where they are, celtic/rangers/hearts are lower mid table prem at best.
 
We don't need an SPL 2. What we need is to get rid of this crap league format playing some teams 3 times then the "Split" then playing them again when it can mean playing the same team home or away for a third time. Add that to the two cups and you can play the same team at least six times a season maybe more if there is a replay involved. :mad:

We should expand the league to 16 or 18 teams play each other once at home and once away. Problem solved but that would be to much common sense wouldn't it? :confused:
 
Common sense indeed, but it would mean that the non Old Firm would get less big money games so it'll never happen :rolleyes: .

Expanding the league to 16/18 teams would make the current SPL teams worse wouldn't it?

Unless they could secure more TV money (doubt that would happen since who would want to watch half of those 1st division teams) then the money would be shared among more teams, hence each team getting less of the TV revenue etc.

Or maybe I'm just making it up so Aberdeen still have a chance of a top 6 finish (we play useless against teams we are expected to beat, play well against teams we are supposed to lose against)
