Spoiler tags

That blue stands out quite nicely on my black theme :D

But you're right, they wouldnt use the spoiler tags. At least not the first time, the 2nd time they didnt use the spoiler tags I'd ban them, so they wouldnt get a third time to not use them :)

I'd make a forum hack where I could put a 'you have posted in this thread' indicator on a thread that the person doesnt want to read (due to spoilers) themselves. Then they would think that they have already been in there and see spoilers that they don't want to see.

It's been discussed in the past in the DR (and it's been requested again), without agreement.

In the mean time the color tag with the value #1c5780 works for the normal forum colour scheme.
Spoilersrather like this.
BTW the titanic sinks

end spoilers
Until you quote someone.

I'd imagine people don't use the colour tags much because they're simply not well known. If the OP to TV threads set out a decent policy to using them (Always use tags with plot details, don't quote the spoilers directly, so on), and somebody actually went to the effort of reporting people that ignored this, you'd probably get a better forum for it.

At the moment, the situation just seems to be "We don't have spoiler tags, oh well, get on with it".

EDIT: If you won't put spoiler tags in, hows about simply adding a shorthand for the exact background colour we're supposed to use? Like how is actually [COLOR="00000"] or whatever it is. Just have a . Because I constantly forget the colour needed.

People forget to add the tags or quotes of quotes don't have the tags.

Just leave it as it is, no talk of something that hasn't aired yet. It's a simple rule with no confusion that works regardless of theme being used.

but they do because im on another forum that has this and multi qoutes are fine

Even if people WERE to stop talking about stuff that hasn't been shown yet, what about people who've not played all the way through a game yet, or who haven't seen a TV show that's already been aired, or haven't been to see a film even though loads of other folk have?

Spoiler tags makes sense. I also don't see the point in not talking about stuff that hasn't aired here yet. No one is explicitly saying HOW they've seen it and through what means they've obtained it.

Why would anyone think that a thread (especially a big one) on something that is already available wouldn't contain spoilers?

Personally I'm not bothered how people watch things, to me it matters that people who have not had the chance, legally, to watch it don't have it spoiled.

I'm a fan of Chuck, should I be able to go on chuck.net and ask them to hide everything before a date that I choose, so that i can only see old stuff?

I doubt there would be any harm in starting a new thread if you had a specific question about something that you didnt want to ask in a normal spoiler thread.

Yeah, that's all very well but having 90% of posts within a thread having spoiler tags in would drive me nuts... Which threads would as most discussion after a programme has aired is about that program...

All you'd have left is the "can't wait to watch the show later" posts...
