** Spoilers ** Carling Cup Quarter-Finals [Nov 30th-1st Dec]

Just as we are looking favourites to host the world cup (odds on with the bookies), the Birmingham fans go and **** it up, by launching flares into the villa contingent. Morons Thanks a bunch.

I've just got back from the game and it was the villa fans that throw the flare. The blues fans then started to throw it back which was then returned back and forth between the fans untill it went out.

Tbh the villa fans started to then trow seats at the blues fans the police then started to move the blues fans back off the pitch.

Both sets of fans where to blame inside and out of the ground. Was going off all over the place.

By the way i'm a middlesbrough fan so no favoritisum to either team.

Have Villa got many injuries or is Houllier flopping hard? Doesn't seem to be winning many games!

Not sure of all the injury problems, Gabby's been missing for a long while though and hasn't really been back long, no form, Carew was out for a long time after a fantastic season and never regained his old form, was basically crap when he came back last season. Heskey's out and shockingly he almost looked a striker before his injury(not quite a striker but less of a retard), Petrov and Reo-coker are out so they've really lost their entire midfield "bite" and experience, Villa are playing a lot of guys we'd never heard of before this season. Bannon, Clark, couple of others, they don't look half bad, but its a lot of inexperienced, brand new to the prem players.

I wouldn't blame Houllier, the current fit squad is a heck of a lot weaker than last seasons squad.

Derby games between all the brum teams are as bad, just it usually kicks off outside the stadium not in it.
Hence why i dont support any of them ;)

Yup, they have soooo many injuries, Albrighton's out as well who was looking good, most of the people who have stepped in look ok apart from Hogg really who looks atrocious.

We have to give them a proper send off, we dot wanna seem to be rude to our guests

This makes me hate you vile lot even more. Arrogant to the bone, purely disgusting last night. Celebrating like you'd won the world cup, just remember who won 6, yes, SIX in a row. Should be banned.

Hogg's not bad, not brilliant though. Albrighton and Delfouneso are the 2 biggest prospects for us.

With regard to injuries, we've lost Sidwell, Ireland, Carew, Albrighton, Delph, Heskey, Petrov, Beye, Cuellar and Weimann.

Looks like someone can't take the defeat, I always laugh when ever a team loses they bring up the stats, with the pitch invasion it shouldn't be condoned and the flare was started by villa fans.

Albrighton, thats the one, couldnt' remember his name but he started off the season very well. Bannon seems not at all bad but a little, selfish, shoots quite a lot/runs it himself when there are better options.

Ireland looked not half bad in the second half against Arsenal, his movement his very good, the team just isn't gelling enough for his style to work at the moment.

It was a supporter of another club who asked essentially why Villa lost and did they have injuries, not Villa fans bringing it up, get over yourself. As a neutral I'd say both teams were a bit rubbish last night and the winning goal, I'm fairly sure that big lump upfront hit his shot massively wide and only the deflection took it towards the goal, very lucky goal. First from Larsson was decent, very decent player he is aswell as Bowyer.

With a fully fit Villa I really wouldn't expect Brum to win, you really need another proper striker in January. Buying a huge lump based on his height, when he's a lightweight idiot, rather lazy and very weak for his size was absolutely the wrong way to go. Theres only so many goals he'll fluke a season while Jerome needs someone who can pass to form a partnership with.

I see the BBC have up to date information about Villa during their highlights last night. :p

It's more the Birmingham lot can't take winning. How come this NEVER happens when Villa beat Birmingham, yet the three times in recent history when Birmingham have beaten Villa you get pitch invasions and violence within the stadium?? It's pathetic that this fixture means more to the Birmingham City contingent than anything else, and i'm afraid that the only solution is to ban away supporters from the fixture at both stadiums.

Utterly mindless and pathetic on both sides, but let's face it if the Birmingham fans had stayed off the pitch there wouldn't have been a problem.

Ireland's struggling a little, shame to read he wants out already, seeing as we gave him a chance at a good club. He needs to be patient, he'll be a very good player for us imo. Bannan's got superb vision, but he lacks the experience. Very pleased with him so far, and another player that come next season will be one to watch.

Sunny - I can take defeat. In a fairly even game, it swung your way, well done. However, I can't stand the disgusting attitude constantly portrayed by your "fans". Stop acting like hooligans when you beat us and you might earn a little respect, but for me you lot just take it too far. By all means celebrate, but don't do it in such a pathetic way.

I fully agree with you, the actions of those who ran onto the pitch and threw flares is not right and they should be punished. With the winning against villa and celebrating over the top i just assume it as harmless banter between both sets of fans, just like any derby match.
