Going home the other day, it was heavy rain and I approached a roundabout with a naughty camber on it. I indicated right, slowed right down to about 10mph and turned right, giving it a tiny touch of throttle .... low revs, no turbo kicking in, but within 2 seconds I was facing the way I had came. Talking to a mate who is a traffic cop, he said a few RWD cars there have spun.

No other cars, no damage and I turned around and went

The next day, sunshine and the roundabout was effortless at higher speed and revs.

It shows what a naughty car the MR2 Turbo is in the wet.

Do you have a Rev1 by any chance?

My Rev1 tried to catch me out before at 15mph. Manageds to counter it but it shocked me how it tried to go at such a slow speed.

Driven 3 MR2's now and the car tried to catch me out a few times but never actually got me untill a Golf decided to try and kill me.

Sounds like fun

I guess you were lucky there were no other cars about, and that you were going so slowly.

Diesel on the roads perhaps? Does the roundabout get used by trucks a lot?

I do. :D

As for diesel, the road is a busy one and used by trucks but I don't know if there was a spill.
Ah yeah got to love those Rev1's :D

agw knows the true power of Rev1's and what a icy bridge can do. :D

The difference the weather makes with these cars is massive. I dont even try when its wet as boost in a low gear just makes me spin and start turning on the spot.

In the dry though it grips and grips.

I never had problems in any weather with my MR2, it just understeered at slow speeds which turned into a 4 wheel drift as you went faster.

What tyres do you have on? Are they made of plastic?

After driving a Rev1 and Rev3 the Rev3 feels a lot less snappy and more controlled when its wet.

Almost did the same second day with the mx, wet roundabout, entered at 5mph such a small amount of power added and backend came right out, never had it since i've fitted quality rubber.

Some roundabouts are a bit like that I guess. The roudabout up near the local motorway junction is I know that. My dad spun the 300zx there twice to my knowledge at almost no speed. A mate also once spun his fiesta there too, going a but faster but still not pushing it at all. There is a large BSL distribution warehouse just off the roundabout so maybe its diesel from the trucks, seems like a bit of an excuse though.
