I like the look of these, and it seems this is the latest one. My question is this: is there anything else I should be looking at? I know very little about the Symbian (sp?) phones so I don't know what they have to offer. With regards to features, I'll most likely use anything that I can get, anyone sugfgest anything similar or have this phone?

On the Symbian front there's currently a lull before the storm. The last major Symbian release was the Nokia N70. It's got a couple of features over the C600 (hot-swappable memory, 3G, radio), but it's got a lowe resolution screen.

However, in 1-2 months time, Nokia and Sony Ericsson plan to release a new generation of smartphones. A large number feature better than QVGA resolution screens, WiFi, 3G and various other features depending on the model (hard-drives, push e-mail, etc.).

The pick of them for me is the Nokia N80. It seems to have every feature under the sun and doesn't look too big.

The SE P990, Nokia N80, N91, E60, E61 and E70 all have WiFi.

Judging by the Orange Developer page for the N91, Orange isn't planning to cripple the WiFi on them like they did on the C600.

Sounds about right for when my contract runs out, any chance of wi-fi on any of them?
Plus on most of the other HTC Tornado based phones (Imate SP5, Qtek 8310 etc.) you already have WiFi built in. IMO a daft decision by Orange to disable the WiFi, although its obvious why they did it.

Was all set to upgrade my phone to the C600 but the lack of Wi Fi is a massive let down.

Vodafone will be releasing the Imate SP5 soon with the Wi Fi enabled.

Wouldn't surprise me if Orange released a C650 based on the SP5 in the not too distant future. Well, I hope they do anyway! :p

The C600 *is* the same device as the SP5. It is unlikely Orange will release a revised version with the WiFi enabled as they made the decision in the first place to have it disabled - afterall they'd rather take the revenue from being forced to used their network for data rather than potentially free WiFi.

Its already out but mainly only being focused to business customers, its called the Qtek V1240, and last time i checked, £25 on anytime 75 price plan (£20 a month) bit of a bargain.

Vodafone has also crippled their own HTC Tornado phone by not including Pocket MSN but they included push email which some variants don't have however this functionality will be included in the new ROMs.
