I installed SQL 2012 sp1 enterprise evaluation because at the time of the start of the project the licenses was not available.
The SQL eval has expired and now I have to do an edition upgrade. I have looked in to it and it should go smoothly just want to check if there is anything i have missed .
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143393(v=sql.110).aspx
Based on this I can change edition from sql 2012 sp1 enterprise evaluation to sql 2012 sp1 standard.
I am still waiting to find out whether we have the per core license or the server cal from my boss who failed to send through the license information on time, even though i asked him many times for it.
I have downloaded the ISO from the eopen that includes the license key and run the setup from that and gone to change edition and it comes prepopulated with a key.
So i think i should be ok, I will have to restart the sql server and thus stop all the applications connected to the service.
I read that some people said after changing editions they had problems with the service accounts being reset and changed. Has anyone done this before and have any advice to prevent any issues?
