SQL Plus question

I'm knew to this malarky,

I'm entering a query that returns over 1000 lines and the screen can't hold all that, it won't let me scroll back to the start... so...

is there any flag I can enter to control the scrolling and/or a way of dumping it all in to a file? I tried saving it to a file but all it saved was the initial query i typed and no results

Use:

spool path\filename

Then input yor sql query

spool off

All the output will then be saved to the file, including the actual SQL used.

Or you can do:

set pause on

before entering your command, and SQLplus will pause after each screenful.
