Is squatting and claiming ownership after 12 years of residence still legal? My mate reckons it isn't? :confused:

12 years is legal, however, after 10 years (I think) the landlord will have to be notified and will still have the right to evict the squatter. Only if after 12 years and no objection from the landlord, then the squatter will have freehold (but its not full title guarantee)

Surely the cramp would be pretty unbearable after 12 years...
