Hi,

I'm looking for some information whether a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 is compatible with a Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB. The BIOS is quite old - circa 2009 - and I can't really update it for various reasons. I assume that because it's an old BIOS a SSD won't work?

Cheers

An SSD would be seen like any SATA HDD, so it should be fine.

In fact, I've got a Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5, (that's SATA-2 as well) which I bought from OcUK towards the end of 2009 and because there were issues with the later BIOS updates at the time, I never updated mine and haven't done so since and I've got a Crucial 128GB M4 SSD running on mine without any problems.
