SSD not showing in bios.

Ok currently in the process of building a new rig, mobo is a GA-Z77-DH3 with a 3570K cpu and 16 gigs of ram. However i also have a 128 gig Kingston SSD fitted and this is not showing in the bios, the only thing showing in the "boot option" is my old 300 gig maxtor from my old rig, and when i reboot with the sata cable from this pulled the boot option part of the bios disapeers. Anyone have any clues what could be wrong?

Checked AHCI is on?

Switched that on in the bios, rebooted and the old hd was there but no ssd

I practically have the same kit (120gb SSD) but I've never had that issue. Only time I had an issue was flashing the BIOS upgrade and it reset the AHCI to IDE.

yeah was ide by default, but have changed that. Wondering if the ssd is doa :s

Do you have another system to try it on?? or try plugging the SSd into a different SATA III port?

Ok currently posting from the new rig, problem solved now. Turned out to be a faulty power lead combined with a setting buried in the bios i hadn't seen
