St Helens

thinking of moving there or something Tres?

as above dentons green, eccleston, windle are ok (east of town), slightly biased as that's where i spent the firrst 18 years of my life.

+ the rugby is good :D

Im from St Helens, living in Laffak atm. Not a bad town and it is getting slowly better. However, the nightlife is a joke.

Not too sure why St Helens exists. Possibly to keep Wiganers away from Liverpool. Like a buffer.

Oh, it has a glass museum.

It exists so that I can get the bus to Liverpool everyday.

I have lived in Wigan all my life and never been to St Helens

lol

What town can say they have a world class rugby team and football team in the top leagues?

You have never been to St Helens because the only time you have stepped outside Wigan was to go to Magaluf.

I remember not too long ago when the Levellers played free at St Helens. Kind of surreal because it was just to unlikely!

I live in St.Helens and as has been said - some bad and some good areas.

I currently work in Liverpool down in the docks. I'm sorely tempted to rent one of the nice flats down there, however I'm struggling to overcome my hate of renting.

I've never been to St. Helens, closest I've been is Earlestown, and all I can say about that is "lol".

It is horrendous.

Most of St Helens is awful. Warrington is generally nicer, particularly Winwick/Westbrook/Great Sankey. I live in the nicer part of Newton-Le-Willows, nearer to Warrington.

It's nearer to the M62/M6 than St Helens to boot.

IIRC, St Helens was near the bottom of that 'resilience' list that the Beeb produced about the impact of the incoming cuts. 299th place out of 320 odd. Warrington was 161st. St Helens' road network is awful too.
