To be honest, they do all seem a bit like you're cataloguing the churches, rather than going for any artistic feel/theme.

Some of these need straightening, and some of the processing doesn't work very well.

The only one that might have some possibilities is the first one, but I'd definitely straighten it a little and re take the shot with better sky. I'm not too sure to be honest.

#9 is nice from the textures that have shown up in the HDR, but again it seems more documentary than anything else. Maybe it's the angle, I'm not sure.

It is straight , i used the straightener on it.. Its probably because of the website details it covers the other part of it.. Both sides are directly equal. If you use your straightner on the bottom window you will see its flat . All the other images have also been straightened the problem is if you straighten one part it sways out the other too much , Take for example the door in mono. If you straighten the top half it messes up the bottom half.

It is straight

Oops, my bad. I'd scrolled down a bit when looking again, and looked at the wrong one :D I R speshul :p To make matters worse, it was a completely different shot I looked at. I scanned the door shot, which seems at an odd angle and not quite straight.

Is it possible its supposed to be like that? , if you look at the lower half of the door and the step its completely straight. Don't forget this place was built in the 1200's , i'll have to look at it again but i was facing direct down the pathway

Yeah, you're right. It just looks odd as it's a tight crop I think. Looking at it more carefully the step is level and there are all sorts of angles because of it's age. It makes my eyes do funny things :p It's the tilt of the building to the right, and the floor being level that made me think it was off, looking at it a bit more.

See :p

When i had my tripod out , placed it in the center of the church it was way out the whole building isn't level. I used the leveler on the tripod and made sure it was dead on. Outside i used handheld but made sure i was dead center with doors and things however some straightening was needed. Yet even with it straightened it would throw another part of it way out , to think in the year 1200 they didn't have the tools we do today.

And about the documentry side of things yes and no , look at the way i did number 10 with the lovely roof line and the circle window shining its wonderful design across the roof. Or number 9 see how both of the wooden objects are directly facing each other to guide you down the church center. Or number 4 showing the textures and handmade design of the 1200's.

I really feel that the argument you used isn't the best its more of an opinion of what you prefer than that of its just documentry and not photography.

I've seen photo's here and on other sites where people have gone WOW thats amazing , great comp and texturing yet i've thought thats boring , nothing much to look at its just a wall. Yet thats my opinion , i hate art galleries. I tend not to say much though unless i actually like the subject shot but may need some brightness tweaking e.t.c
