Stacked the car this morning (pics)

At the sliproad joining the M62 at Jct 31.

Not sure how, I slid across a lane, the rear of the car came out so i steered into it, but not enough it seems, the back wheels went onto the grass and I flipped up and went into the trees.The car came to a rest on its side, with the passenger side on the floor.

There are some traffic lights just before the slip road which I had stopped at, so I cant have been going fast, I just seemed to slide straight across.

Was trapped in the car, but a guy stopped and helped me out. Out of about 30 people that drove by, 2 stopped, which is a sad state of affairs i think. There were even people directly behind that saw it happen, but still carried on driving.

So thats 2 years no claims and one corsa gone, but Im fine, will be a tad stiff in the morning I expect!

Aren't you meant to boot it in a front wheel drive if the back end goes nuts?

No idea, I didnt seem to have any traction at all with any of the wheels.

A fire engine, 2 traffic cars, an ambulance and a highways agency van were all on scene within about 10 mins which I thought was impressive

I know, the car must have thought it was 4wd all of a sudden!

You're obviously not going to admit it on here, but seriously dude. Slow the **** down because next time you'll get yourself killed. You must seriously have been giving it some to roll it like that. You dont roll a car taking motorway roundabouts at 30 ...

It was definatley my fault, but i cant have been going over 50mph. I was stationary just before the slip road and its only a 1.2, so slow to pick up speed.

But neverthless i was obviously going too fast for the conditions. lesson learnt

Out of interest, what tyres was it on?

Continental somethings, maybe premium contact? Standard fit

Could there have been ice? If you were only doing 50, something must have sent you off.

No, was about 6c iirc. The junction is next to europort so lots of trucks etc, so fuel on the road could be a possibility, but im not going to blame it as I dont know.

Junction 31, is that the Normanton junction? Which way were you joining, eastbound (Hull) or westbound (Manchester)?

I think he meant how i ended up facing the wrong way with the car on its side. I dont have a clue either! Might go up today and see if there are any obvious marks

Glad your ok and hope you learned a lesson mate. I spun a FWD car once, learned a huge lesson there!!!

Yep, been driving 3 years and 50000 miles. Least I did it in style!
