Stacked the car this morning (pics)

:(

At the sliproad joining the M62 at Jct 31.

Not sure how, I slid across a lane, the rear of the car came out so i steered into it, but not enough it seems, the back wheels went onto the grass and I flipped up and went into the trees. The car came to a rest on its side, with the passenger side on the floor.

There are some traffic lights just before the slip road which I had stopped at, so I cant have been going fast, I just seemed to slide straight across.

ok first things first. Your most probably shaken up by it all. possibly even slightly scared by the whole thing and upset by it.

Key to remember is you didnt run anybody over, you didnt kill yourself and its only money and metal. I say only money because at the end of the day you can allways go out to work and earn some more money. you cant earn yourself another you. Same goes for the car. You can buy another one. Its what you have insurance for.

Think yourself lucky, and put it down to experience

2ndly, you need to take long hard look at your driving style. You dont bin a front wheel drive corsa in such spectacular style driving on a roundabout in a normal manor.

You're obviously not going to admit it on here, but seriously dude. Slow the **** down because next time you'll get yourself killed. You must seriously have been giving it some to roll it like that. You dont roll a car taking motorway roundabouts at 30 ...

It was definatley my fault, but i cant have been going over 50mph. I was stationary just before the slip road and its only a 1.2, so slow to pick up speed.

But neverthless i was obviously going too fast for the conditions. lesson learnt :)

at least you're alive mate. looked like a bit of a nasty one. next time the back end goes in a FWD car - plant the accelerator. more chance it will pull it into line then. my escort can get the back end out on lift off oversteer and if i want it to straighten i just accelerate (well... as much as it will do being a 1.8d lol).

if it's a RWD... don't do the above lol.

Why is it that people say FWD cars are easier to control than RWD cars? i find the opposite when the back end goes off on one.

Had it happen to the Capri a few times, just ease off the gas a touch & counter steer a bit and it kind of corrects itself.

Do the same in the Rover and the car throws a fit and trys to launch you into the barrier.

It aint instinctive to nail the gas when your car slides, however i find it is instinctive to ease off a touch.
