I've been left to plan a mates stag do as the best man is singing on board the QE2 and wont be back until the wedding weekend, so have come up with a plan with him before he went away but need to find a location now.

The idea is to get somewhere we can do lots of outdoory things, anything considered, but highest priority are paintballing and go-karting (on or off-road).
either of those combined with some other things would be cool.
Another really big bonus would be somewhere we can camp the night, we've got tents, just need the space (preferably where we can have a fire etc).

Suggestions on a postcard please. Will consider similar ideas, but ideally as close as we can get to the above. Watersports kept to a minimum is better.

Lake District has all these things BUT the campsites can be fussy about who they let on (no single sex groups etc) so Wales will probably be better.

Saying that we go camping on Ullswater Lake every year no worries. The trick is to turn up about 7pm on a Friday after the owners have retired to their farms then just pitch. :D They'll come round and ask for money very early next day and have never kicked us off. If you ring up they'l just say NO. If you avoid bank holidays etc you should be able to find a small corner of a field to yourself.

http://www.watersidefarm-campsite.co.uk/ Very good campsite in Pooly Bridge. Short walk to the village through some woods which is a laugh when slaughtered and there's a few pubs there.

http://www.rookinhouse.co.uk/ And this place isn't far away at all and has lots of stag activities.

Hope this helps.

you want to get a big bunch of guys together, get extremely drunk and start a fire! that sounds like a disaster waitin to happen....and the best night out ever

with the guys involved i'm hoping it wont be too bad a call, he's got two weeks to recover from any burns though :D

We stopped there last august bank holiday, on the third night of staggering back from the pub, the missus tripped up and whacked her face on one of the little bridge thingys. :D

To the OP, try THIS place, I'm fairly sure they had camping facilities, although I can't find any mention of it on their website.

I went on a stag-do a couple of years ago, it was good fun. We stopped in Southport and spent the night on the sauce there.

It's a great campsite isn't it? Been there for the past 4 years or so. And yes the walk back through the woods from the pub is mucho fun :p The random sheep are pretty creepy though in that old barn thing! :p

Yeah it was great, we hadn't planned on going but some friends were already booked, they had a word with the owner and they squeezed us in. We managed to get right by the lake, which was the best cure for a hangover ever!!

Wake up, strip off, jump in. :D
