Often the marketing dept likes to be economical wit the truth, they can get away with being mis-leading but it's not an outright lie, just very close to lying I would say. I guess they push the rules as far as they can without breaking them...

It's not just mobile phone companies that do this either, I recently saw a pair of computer speakers that had "1000W PMPO" emblazoned across the box in huge lettering, only to find 3W (rms) in tiny writing on the back of the box. Who are they trying to kid?

Now I'm rather sceptical of any manufacturer but some are more honest than others when it comes to product specs...

Er it might support 3 /power states/ but that doesn't mean that's it and nothing else. Those on custom ROMs where the CPU governor can scale dynamically and the HAVS kernels scale down the voltage to save battery too and only scales up on demand or whatever governor the user has set.

Then there are more than 11 variations of scaling profiles at there users disposal so potentially there is a huge scope for power saving for those on Android that want to play around with SetCPU.
