Star Trek Online

Did anyone play Lotro at launch at all? I can't remember if I have skewed view of what really happened at launch. The late closed beta and open beta ran like a dream , stable, easy to log into, no load problems, was just smooth as anything, best beta by far. My memory is of a VERY smooth launch, but maybe I'm just remembering it with my rose tinted glasses on.

Either way, whoever was in charge of testing, getting it ready for release and making sure they had the right hardware for the load needs to teach some other MMO's a thing or two :p

Got to the transporter in the tutorial and got booted as it was loading the away mission, now getting a disconnected from account server thing when I try to log back in.

EDIT:_ Loading back in now, finally windowed mode is working for me, in the beta(haven't tried it in a while) windowed mode would constantly cause the client to crash.
 
Thought my luck was in as it got to the verifying files page, but now when i hit engage it says it's unable to connect to the account server.

Not to worry, i downloaded a few episodes of Chuck earlier in anticipation of all the downtime :p
 
Crashed out just after creating a character (whilst loading in to the tutorial) and now getting the "Unable to authenticate" message.

So going with plan c) Downloading ME2 content and then giving that a bash.

Well it is now appearing under "Products" in my account when it wasn't before (like 5 minutes ago), so maybe it would work if only I could actually log in now!

I wish i kept the original instal rather than the steam version...steam has decieded that "something" needs updating...at 4% on 400KB/s...dont think ill be playing tonight somehow

If you do not see your Liberated Borg Character available during Character Creation, please make another character, log in, go to the C-Store, select the Unlocks tab, Liberated Borg, and then click "Claim". If you are having difficulties doing so, please keep trying, we have reports that some of these transactions are timing out right now due to high demand.

Some players may experience difficulties logging into Star Trek Online Right now, we are aware of this issue and working on a resolution.

Timing out due to high demand? How many people bought a lifetime sub :eek:

Oh well. Really enjoy having all my ship controls to the G13 and then ground controls to the keyboard. It feels very Star Trek switching to my G13 for ship control :)
