im going to give this another go played beta didnt like it just one question installing this from retail disc how big approx are all the updates going to be are we talking a few gig ?

Probably a few GB - there have been a few large updates.

CR - are there any special codes or free 5 day trial thingies I could use just to re-start the game? (i.e. with my existing character) or do I have to fork out and no other choice?

I have a demo key - but as others have mentioned, the demo is incredibly limited. Haven't seen any trial keys around. For those about to sub, I would wait a few weeks longer for The Foundry, i.e. the user generated content toolset.

I've still got a trial key floating around I believe... I haven't given any out at all since I started my lifetime sub in January.

I did a reinstall yesterday using my D2D download and the additional size to download was c.1.8Gb to bring it up to season 3

No idea. Very soon though - there is still a lot more of season 3 to go live.

(I did actually once log on when it was a freek weekend and messaged in the Fleet channel but all was silent! Anyhoo. Patching now, may play tonight or at worst, tomorrow

I should really get back on and playing. Only at Captain 2 or something, got a galaxy and that is it, although being in New zealand, the timezone is somewhat screwy... but I do get all the americans... yay :confused:

I now have loads more time on my hand and decided to re-activate.

Downloaded lots of updates and logged in and WOW, they've made some great visual changes. Sector space is AWESOME!

CaptainRAVE, can you check that i'm still in the fleet please.

Turn Astrometrics off.. It then behaves more like 'real' space should do.
