I need to level my crafting, but I think I have enough samples (although I was enjoying the number of ECs they were making me).
I am aiming to get -
The Borg console from "assimilation"
The Borg engines from "infected"
Aegis crafted deflector and covariant shield.
Might need to farm a few more anomalies! Infected will be the only time consuming part.

The Aegus set it very cool - my ship looks like something out of Tron

Actually, getting your crafting skill up doesn't take long and I already had more than enough crafting items - I have sold a lot on the exchange today (15 million ECs worth). The Aegis set looks very cool and the whole set gives you the "reactive shield" ability, which basically stacks upto 10 shield resistances of the current damage type being received. It is very cool
(I took this before getting the Aegis Deflector on the front and adding a Borg console)
Update on game cards
Had a chat with cryptic as they said you can stack game cards but its not obvious how to do it.
Heres the ticket response:
Thank you for contacting billing support. There is no need to wait, once you add one card to your account, you can add the other one to. Game cards can be applied to your account at any time and it will add up to your play time. For any other doubts or concerns, please feel free to contact us again.
If they do not stack - this is the convo with cryptic I had:
james: I tried to add two 60 day game cards and it did not work, its added one but wont accept the other?

james: well their was two keys, i added both and now it wont accept either. so im not sure which it has used for 60 days and what it hasnt, i can give u both?

james: i was subbed to the 26th December, so the two cards should have given me an extra 120 days
Clarence C.: Thanks for your patience. After reviewing the logs, the 2 keys have been entered into the system. The entitlement time currently ends on 2011/05/04 04:00:00 EST.
james: it doesnt say that on my account panel in STO?
Clarence C.: It is likely related to a known display issue on the website. The date displayed should update once the date you see passes.
james: Ok so is it a known problem, just for future reference if i add multiple cards ?
Clarence C.: You can add additional cards. If you need to verify if it went through successfully, you can contact us again.
james: just for reference how are you supposed to add additional cards/stack them?
Clarence C.: You can enter additional game time codes via the website (http://www.startrekonline.com/enter_key) and ensure you're logged in to stack them.

So yes you can stack but be warned to do it via Product key not manage sub

Yep - endgame crafting now has special sets that you can craft (http://www.stowiki.org/Aegis_Technological_Research) and new Borg modifications to the ship (http://www.stowiki.org/Assimilated_Borg_Technology). Basically, crafting has FINALLY received an overhaul and you can easily craft any item in the game with the right anomaly sets.
I love the reactive shield that basically stacks resistances based on the damage received. The ship pictures has the full Aegis crafting set and a Borg console from the Undine mission "Assimilation". You really do need to come online and check it out
JGBR - I won't be adding anymore gamecards until March time (going to see if I am still playing by then). Someone else will need to do it...

The exchange, but until lots of people have crafted it you can expect to pay A LOT of credits for it. Some of the items on their own might actually be a downgrade for you. However, the combined bonus for having the full set is very beneficial.

I don't think so. Most everything in there can be unlocked in-game - I bought the enterprise pack recently, but with the season 3 patch have not had a chance to use it. I guess the Excelsior and its advanced transwarp drive could be useful.
There are ships that looks better e.g. the Sovereign, but the Fleet Escort fits best into my build best and now with the crafting sets looks better than the retrofit Defiant (at least in my opinion). The great thing is, crafting is straightforward to do now, makes a lot more sense than before and can produce useful items!
