Star Wars. 4 5 6 1 2 3 or 1 2 3 4 5 6?

I wouldn't skip Episode I, I'd just show this instead, sums it up nicely :p

That track is incredible. Did you know he wrote the entire thing based on the leaked info that was available in the run up to the film release, so that he'd have it ready on time? And basically got the whole thing right? Amazing.

I read on Wikipedia that Don McLean approved of the cover, and sometimes finds himself singing it at gigs by mistake :D

Didn't know that, that's pretty awesome!

Probably blasphemy but i prefer the new ones over the older ones.

Gets coat and runs ...

Chases with pointy things and fire!

I normally can't stand music parodies but this was actually pretty good for the first 2 minutes. :)

Here are the lyrics for those who get bored listening like I do:

Code:
"The Saga Begins"

A long, long time ago
In a galaxy far away
Naboo was under an attack
And I thought me and Qui-Gon Jinn
Could talk the federation into
Maybe cutting them a little slack
But their response, it didn't thrill us
They locked the doors and tried to kill us
We escaped from that gas
Then met Jar Jar and Boss Nass
We took a bongo from the scene
And we went to Theed to see the Queen
We all wound up on Tatooine
That's where we found this boy...

Oh my my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

Did you know this junkyard slave
Isn't even old enough to shave
But he can use the Force, they say
Ah, do you see him hitting on the queen
Though he's just nine and she's fourteen
Yeah, he's probably gonna marry her someday
Well, I know he built C-3PO
And I've heard how fast his pod can go
And we were broke, it's true
So we made a wager or two
He was a prepubescent flyin' ace
And the minute Jabba started off that race
Well, I knew who would win first place
Oh yes, it was our boy

We started singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

Now we finally got to Coruscant
The Jedi Council we knew would want
To see how good the boy could be
So we took him there and we told the tale
How his midi-chlorians were off the scale
And he might fulfill that prophecy
Oh, the Council was impressed, of course
Could he bring balance to the Force?
They interviewed the kid
Oh, training they forbid
Because Yoda sensed in him much fear
And Qui-Gon said "Now listen here"
"Just stick it in your pointy ear"
"I still will teach this boy"

He was singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

We caught a ride back to Naboo
'Cause Queen Amidala wanted to
I frankly would've liked to stay
We all fought in that epic war
And it wasn't long at all before
Little Hotshot flew his plane and saved the day
And in the end some Gunguns died
Some ships blew up and some pilots fried
A lot of folks were croakin'
The battle droids were broken
And the Jedi I admire most
Met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast
Well, I'm still here and he's a ghost
I guess I'll train this boy

And I was singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"
"Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

We were singin' ...
My my this here Anakin guy
May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry
And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

On topic: 4-5-6, 1-2-3 (this should be a poll).

How can you claim to be a Star Wars fan but not enjoy 1, 2, and 3? I'm a Rocky fan and I even enjoy Rocky 5 for the simple fact it's 2 hours of of a franchise I like, doesn't really matter if its the best of the series it's still better than no Rocky. Likewise for Star Wars.

i disagree - no starwars is better than eps 1-3.
how someone can like 4-6 and also like 1-3 baffles me. 1-3 were showcases in bad film making in my (and a significant number of others) opinions.

With trivial ease. I like James Bond, but there's plenty of films in the canon I could do without. It's the same for anything - books, music, you name it. I'm sure even Picasso had some off days, if you really want to get into it.

Anyone who shows someone Star Wars in 1-6 order or advises anyone to watch them in that order is a complete and utter imbecile.

I actually can't think of anything more stupid. Seriously. It totally boggles my mind.

i'm going to have to agree with that :p

I agree, but I only watch it in that order if its in that order on TV, like when it was on ITV recently or if I feel like trying to imagine how it could've been. :p However, despite seeing both TPM and ROTS on release at the cinema, I always grew up with the original 4-6 on VHS, so they are always going to be my choice over the prequels and the ones I hold dearest to my heart, if that makes sense. And something to do with them generally being all-round superior films.:D

The Best Viewing Order of Star Wars?

OK, shockingly I've only seen 1/2 star wars films when I was younger, don't really remember them now.

I want to watch them all, but unsure if to watch them in the order that makes sense chronologically or the order that George Lucas intended?

What should I do?

(please no spoilers)

2/3/4/5/6

There was never a first star wars film, (don't question this for your own sake)
