Introducing and updated KOTOR II for Mac, Linux, and Windows!

Aspyr in partnership with Disney Interactive and LucasArts is proud to announce STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II - The Sith Lords™ is now available on Mac and LInux, along with a massive update to all 3 platforms.

New features include:

• 37 achievements to be earned through gameplay
• Steam Cloud saves
• Native widescreen resolution support

• Resolution support up to 4K and 5K

• Support for controllers, including Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation
3, and Playstation 4, along with several others (check the system requirements for details)

Steam Workshop support! We proudly worked with the Restored Content Mod Team to have their famous TSLRCM up on launch day

Oh...and we added a "Force Speed Effects" option in the menu ;)

Might just have to re-buy this on steam to see if the Modders release some HD textures and other goodies !!

*Kotor 3 news soon ???*

I played it a bit last night (first time ever)

Was using an Xbox One pad. Seemed to work ok but UI is still a bit clunky. Graphics are obviously very dated and it seemed to have an issue with music getting stuck.

Might stick with it when I completed Witcher 3.

Played through the Restored content mod recently, it was great some of the extra stuff you get. I also added a mod for some missing droid planet, wouldn't recommend it though as I found it really boring. Loads of running about doing nothing and chatting to boring droids.

Hmm i wonder if they improved the textures or models or fixed any bugs and hopefully updated the UI as the old UI while at the time was ok, it is now rather dated and not friendly imo.

Gona fire it up.

Oh is the dev released, after launch, hd cutscenes in or the old ones that was out at launch?

Edit - I wanted to replay the first tbh before i went back to 2. Maybe we will get the same update for the first in time.

Hmm i have a bug, the camera spins to the right all the time, i unplugged my 360 pad but it did not help. Wonder if its a bug with my specific mouse the logitech G400s

Nvm i still had my thrustmaster hotas x plugged in, maybe tho the devs can fix it so that we dont have to unplug them as its a bother to unplug and replug after the game.

I'm sure it's at the top of their list.

Would rather play 1 again before 2. The Revan story was awesome. I don't remember anything about 2's story.

Whats a good char to choose at start and what stats for a gunslinger slash semi jedi. Been so long plus im not a great rpg player so stats i never know what to pick as dunno what they do. Oh and the abilities choices. I think sentinal as a choice but not sure.

Played for a few hours, this is great. Hope they do KOTOR1 as well.

My only issue so far is that the game minimised (thought it crashed at first) before and after a few cutscenes on Peragus when the ship arrives. Hopefully it's not going to be all cutscenes...

Too many alt and tabs make the game not playable as you cant use the kb or mouse on it but seems to be running. Strange one. So watch out if u alt and tab a lot like i do sometimes.

Going with consular and aiming for marauder or sith lord for prestige as ive played it before i just wana rush through the story again tho without bothering with difficulty and that appears to be best using force powers mainly and going consular/maur/sithlord types. Went with 10/12/14/14/14/14 then set recommended for skills and toughness for first feat. Up to the peragus station now. Leaving it there for now as im hungry and a bit exhausted from the prologue as it was a bit boring and long winded.

Hard to tell, they have borders on top and bottom they seem low res but given the age it might be the high res ones the dev put out awhile ago but still arnt too great on modern monitors. I think they might be 1600x900 but im probably wrong and are lower.

Edit - Just downloaded the hd quality versions and compared em using radtools to play em. Exact same so this steam one with this patch has the HQ cutscenes. Still not great but best were gona have i think unless they do a remastering in a few years.

Im trying for consular/sith lord. I am in the harbinger ship atm, got atoon and the old women with me.

Should i be leveling these 2 npcs, if so what kinda stuff should i be spening points on as i have no clue.

Should i save leveling for later on?

Should i be trying to keep improving influence with the women and atton or can i lose it with em (being nasty to em) i am a sith after all hehe.

Atm i have the women on jedi support style, she has a blaster, atton has a blaster too and is ranged style.

Any kinda armor, weapons, implants, shields, etc to focus on as theres a lot of options and im a little overwhelmed.

£2.09 on the current steam sale.

I never finished this the first time around. Ran into a seeming game breaking bug and gave up IIRC.

I had the disc version (apparrently a right ballache to get working in newer versions of Windows) but decided to get Steam version for convenience. Up and running in Windows 10 with restored content mod (thanks to Steam Workshop) really quickly.

The gamepad implementation is great - although in game hints still mapped to the keyboard controls. Playing with a 360 controller but mouse and keyboard still work. I've found myself using mouse and controller, rather than mouse and keyboard.

Despite the system requirements now listing an i3 or A10 as minimum requirements it's running perfectly on my Phenom FX5200 (roughly equal to a stock 955 or 965 ish). Can't for the life of me think why the current requirements are so high. Maybe they just didn't test it on lesser hardware?

Cutscenes aren't HD though. Can we still get hold of the upgraded ones?
