Starting a new life in a new city! [Problems]

I've been tempted to up sticks and move up North a few times. I've always found it easy to make new friends up there. People are so up their own posteriors in London (in the city at least), it just grates on me.

haha, I don't think I am cut out for Martial arts unfortunately :D I am a bit of a sissy!

A manchester meet! I'd go but I dunno if I could arrange one! somebody should tho! :)

If you're a sissy then that's exactly why you should go... lots of them don't involve really any physical strength and are more about throws etc. Don't fancy spending your evenings throwing young flexible women into compromising positions?

*Disclaimer* - The young women bit may completely fictional and might just be my mind at work :p i.e. I need a girlfriend.

Get enrolled at your local gym. You won't meet a lot of people to talk to but you will be happier for it.

Night classes. Take one that really appeals and one that doesn't.

Join clubs. Join one that really appeals and one that doesn't.

How about signing up to couchsurfing? You don't have to let people stay at your place but you can show people around/go for drinks when they visit.

Every city has a couchsurfing group as well which always have different night's out and stuff planned.

Your neighbours around the same age?
Organise a OCUK Manchester meet?

Do this, I'll come!

Just moved up north myself (live near Huddersfield, work in Leeds), and have yet to branch out past the neighbours in terms of friend circles. But I have a gf to steal all my free time so I have an excuse.
