Steam DLC on an Epic game?

I see the Hitman GOTY add on is cheap on Steam at the moment? I have the base game on Epic and have linked the accounts and can launch it through Steam but if I buy the DLC will it apply it? Logic kinda tells me not but I'm not sure...

theres a few posts from googling that say you can, you just need to copy the dlc folder over
cannt confirm it myself but thought i would let you know incase you wanted to try it anyway
