Their impact may have lessened significantly in recent years, what with the change to the sale's structure, and the rise of other online retailers, but the Steam Summer sale still warrants a thread of its own. If nothing else, we need a place for recommending hidden gems, as well as collectively bemoaning the fact that the hidden ARG was for a new hat rather than HL3.

Good shout. And for anyone in the euro zone, there are similar offers here. Apparently they stack too, i.e. use all three to get €60 Steam credit for €45.

A lot of my wishlist is made up of DLC content for already owned games, but it seems discounts on DLC are rarely as good compared to price cuts to the base game.

If you successfully added the discount to your PayPal account, it will give you £5 off your next purchase of over £20 on Steam, when you choose to pay with PayPal. Basically, when you get to the PayPal confirmation page, it should show a £5 discount.
