Steam-Visa declined, money left account

I decided to buy the Orange Box from Steam, and my credit card was declined due to the wrong address(I put in my uni rather than my home one). The money has left the account though. What should I do?

Has the money actually been taken, or just moved to unavailable. If its just been moved to unavailable you either need to contact your bank/steam or wait and it should get re added to your available balance in the next week, when Steam doesnt claim it.

I have no idea-my account balance is simply less than it was! How do I find out if it is unavailable or gone?

It will get returned to your account (contact them though). The same thing happened to me at OcUK a couple of years ago when i moved. Ordered a couple of things and they refused it due to not having changed my address with the bank yet, it's one of their security measures. I had to go to the bank and change my address then re-order and pay again, but the original payment did get returned to me about a week later.

The other posters are spot on, I made the same mistake over xmas and put in my old address (its about 3 mins away by walking so similar post code) when buying a pressie for my mother from boots. The cash for it (about £35) went into 'holding' where its basically reserved for the payment if the details get sorted. You can release it back into your bank account by ringing them up but it takes a few days to clear iirc
