Steve Jobs Takes Medical Leave

With OS X / iOS on it? :p

My point is people who don't like Apple products can safely ignore them rather than expecting them to munge in with the alternatives.

Very sad, Pancreatic Cancer is one of the nastier Cancers. I lost a cousin to it last year - approximately 9 weeks from Diagnosis to passing away. Less than 5% of all persons diagnosed with it survive beyond 5 years. I wish him well, he will need it.

yeah but it's against Apple's T&Cs to use OS X on a pc without an Apple logo on it :p

The Register said:
Since his return, though, Jobs has appeared increasingly frail. One unconfirmed report by a Reg reader who told us he had spotted Jobs in public, noted that he required help walking. On Monday, The New York Times cited an unnamed source who said that Jobs was coming into the office only about two days a week, and that he appeared "increasingly emaciated."

It's not looking good, there's already talk of his replacement

I guess an apple a day doesnt keep the DR away ....................

i know its wrong , but i couldnt resist .

hope he gets better though .

Call me cynical, but I find it highly suspicious that Apple have reported record profits, trying to bolster their stocks after the sad news no doubt.

No matter who he is or what he stands for, cancer is never a good thing... get well dude, where would us Windows users be without someone on the other side to throw paper aeroplanes at?

They have been recording record profits and revenue virtually every year.

Two years after the transplant? Highly unlikely

hardly fella, transplants can be rejected at anytime, once you have a transplant your on anti rejection medication for life, if there's a problem with the medication at any time & it ceases to be effective any more, then the bodies natural defences kick back into gear & attack the donated organ as they would've done in the first place if they weren't being chemically suppressed.

i wish the guy all the best, i'm indifferent to Apples products, but there's no denying the wider impact they've had on technology.

Just to bump this, it seems that Steve may have cancer and have only a few weeks left to live - Link
The photos, which were taken on February 8, showed Mr Jobs going for breakfast with his wife Laurene Powell before heading to the Stanford Cancer Centre in California.

Dr Jerome Spunberg said: 'Mr Jobs is most likely getting outpatient chemotherapy at Stanford because the cancer has recurred.'

Hopefully he will be alright and its a load of press nonsense, but it doesn't sound good.
