Got a radio with the car but the left hand side of it has always been rather sticky. The buttons get stuck in etc. Is it safe to use some WD40 on it? Any other suggestions as what to use?

Thanks.

Don't use WD40, someone I know tried that and it just made things worse.

Take it out and clean it properly.

I'm not really sure how to take it apart. Is there nothing I can 'squirt' in which will help? Might just leave it for a bit and get a new stereo, as it's only a cheap one anyway :)

Thanks for the replies.

You could use some electrical motor cleaner, but i'm not sure how/if it'll react with the plastic.

A certain high street electrical components retailer sells various sprays including adhesive remover, switch cleaner etc for a couple of quid a tin which might do it.
(dont think I can name it as its probably classed as a competitor)
