The video in question. Dude happens to misplace the most valuable figure in the set. When giving the figure back he says its a fake in an attempt to pre-emptively defend himself against accusations of theft.
In his next video BAM complains about the privacy of their employees, then proceeds to tell him about said employees medical information.


Ignoring the police corruption; this highlights how civil lawsuits, heavily favour the side with sufficient financial capital. Then even if you do win, there are legal but dirty tricks that can be used to avoid paying out.

From what I understand, it’s only a temporary restraining oder so definitely wouldn’t assume the story is over.. Once the court gets into some form of discovery, it could get interesting

They’ve buried themselves on the public opinion front, that’s for sure.
 
That first guy was very good with his words. Essentially blaming the police department for the raise in taxes of the incoming lawsuit that will effect everyone in the area.

People ears tend to stand up when it is effecting their pocket.

I don't know a lot about USA law but I do know that under USA law, court papers cannot be served via email unless:

1. The defendant or their legal council have agreed, in writing, prior to service.

2. A judge has ordered 'substitute' service. However this requires a number of prerequisites that must be satisfied:
  • You (Plaintiff) made diligent, documented attempts to serve them in person.
  • The email address you are using is active and currently monitored by the defendant.
  • The electronic delivery is reasonably likely to provide the defendant with actual notice of the lawsuit

It seems strange to me that those criteria have been met in anyway

I saw it from the man himself, but maybe it was a mistake and they put it back up. Who knows whats going on any more.
 
I might have missed it but did we find out which court allowed service of papers via email? You'd have to wonder about such a decision if it was made at state level, given what's happened with the police dept.

I get the feeling that a semi-decent lawyer could absolutely eviscerate the entire state in court.
 
I know all the u-haul lies don't look good for B&M, but the missing lego/layaway stuff + Brian selling matching sets made me a little sus of the old franchisee and Brian...
 
I really wish I hadn't come across this story because now I'm so emotionally invested in it.

Do you think everything is going to turn out okay for Brian? :(
