Stoner sues University over 2:2

Your work was marked internally only ? Mine (dissertation ) was marked by at least 1 external source too. Both graded me 2:1

i would have raised an issue if that was the case.
It (my program, write up and presentation - computer science) was marked by my supervisor and another supervisor. The marking wasn't the problem, it was probably justified, the problem I had was that my supervisor had seen all of the work several times, months in advance, given me only positive feedback, and then I got a pap mark for it. In my opinion this is a failing of the supervisor because he offered me feedback and trusting it I thought my work was good enough.

Seeing as nobody here knows the facts about what actually happened, we shouldn't comment as any opinion is uninformed... However, he sounds like he's whining, and that the university could have handled it better.

Ignorant OP.

2:2 does not = stoner.

Equally the stoners I knew all got 1sts from UCL, a far better uni than most people ever go to.
I was just about to post this, at UCL too :D
Up yours OP.

I only managed a 2:2 though. There's only so far you can go if you pull your finger out in the second half of year 4 :o

We don't know the circumstances around this. Either he's delusional or there really is something to it.

A couple of years ago my housemate, who studied history, got a 1st on results day but a few days later got a letter from the uni stating that after moderation they changed his grade down to a 2:1. He appealed to no avail, but he only required the 2:1 to get into Law school so he didn't take it far.

He has a fair point and it's entirely possible that he was lumped with a poor supervisor for his last year.

A friend of mine who also took Pharmacology at UoB was stuck with a Professor whose sole purpose was to push his own ideas and his own opinions onto us.
When writing her dissertation he slated her work because it didn't agree with his ideas and have her final draft a provisional 'fail' unless she drastically changed it.

Needless to say she had someone else look at it and said that it was more than perfect because it provided a balanced argument for all of her findings. Her original supervisor wasn't included in the final marking and I'm fairly sure he's been taken out of the tutor/supervisor role he somehow held for so long.

I'm sorry but if you are willing to fail your dissertation or have a bad mark at the end of your degree over an "opinion" then you deserve it. I am studying a subject that is much debated and constantly changing and if I let my "personal opinions/feelings/morals" get in the way then I might as well call it quits. Sometimes swallowing your opinion/pride can be beneficent.
