Stopping smoking - Champix

Anyone else had any dealings with Champix?

Im on them now, been on then 6-7 weeks, still smoking.

Very vivid dreams and I only feel sick if i take them on an empty stomach.

Ive always been short tempered so thats not changed.

Go every other wednesday to the local quit squad meetings.

Dont seem to be doing much at the moment

Really glad I quit before vaping came along.

Quitting nicotine is the key, had these been around back then I'd probably have started puffing on one of those pipe things.. And looking ridiculous doing so.

Good luck quitting mate. I plan to quit when back from travelling, here is to hoping!

June 20th 2012. Wow!

I ended up quitting the 21st August 2013, and have been vaping ever since. I know people have their opinions on it many times over, but I feel infinitely times better inside and out about vaping rather than smoking.

After being a heavy smoker (30+ a day) for 35 years I used Champix to quit in 2008 and haven't had a cigarette or anything else (vaping, gum, lozenges, etc.) in eight and a half years.
I tried loads of times to quit before that and always caved after a few days. Even with Champix I was dreading giving up but I found it all quite easy in the end. I did get cravings for a few years but nothing any more.

I tried to stop smoking twice using Champix and was successful on my second attempt though I was confined to bed for the final week or so as I really felt unwell. That was 6 years ago and do I still miss it, occasionally. But I have not become the rabid anti smoking preacher that s many people do after stopping. I have friends who smoke and that is their choice.
I must admit I find stale smoke very unpleasant but fresh smoke not so much.

I gave up shortly after finishing treatment for throat cancer a massive contributor to my disease but I gave up not for health reason but for financial as I really could not afford to smoke on benefits and it baffles me how folk manage it.

I stopped on January 4th, 2001 after being a very heavy smoker, 40-60 per day!!!

I pretty much went cold turkey. I used one of those inhilators but without the nicotine cartridge. I think it was the hand to mouth thing I needed, especially after a meal.

I found it very easy, not bragging there, I just think it was my time to stop. I had tried many times before, not really wanting to but thinking I should; I failed those times.

The bugger is, I over eat and am therefor overweight, I can't seem to stop that even though I know I should! (maybe refer to the previous paragraph??).
