Strange connection problems

An odd one this, I can access some websites but not others. For example I can access overclockers with no problems but i can't view google and many other websites. It seems completely arbitrary which work work and which don't. When they do work they are completely fine, e.g. i'm downloading ubuntu now at 300kb/s (once i found a mirror that worked!).
Also msn messenger and skype works, although msn messenger seems to be more temperamental.

It is also not just my computer affected but my flatmates too. All this suggests to me that it isn't a firewall (Comodo) or router (Linksys WAG54GS, Firmware Version: V1.00.08) problem.

I've got a feeling this can be solved quite easily but i have no idea how!? Any help much appreciated!

In what way does it not work? Who's your ISP?

My ISP is freedom2surf.

The problem is I can't view the majority of websites only handful work. Firefox for example would say: "The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Other programs (thunderbird, itunes etc) give error messages of a timeout connecting to the server.
