Every day for the past few weeks I suffer intermittent connection glitches.

Basically, I work from home as a web designer/developer. I'm in almost constant contact with our collocation servers, hosted by Entanet - the data-centre in Telford. I'm on Virgin Media 4mb Cable Broadband.

A couple of times per day, for several minutes, I'll lose touch with the servers. The site I'm working on will hang, FTP will time out and my POP mail chokes.

My internet connection as a whole is fine. MSN, Skype, the rest of Outlook and all other websites are fine. Just anything related to our servers stops responding.

My colleagues do not have the issue and touch the servers all day without issues. They also confirm the servers are fine when I'm experiencing the problems.

After 5-8 minutes, the connection will return to normal.

I've flushed my DNS, rebooted my modem countless times and done numerous trace routes during normal use and during the connection drop. It doesn't miss a beat and hops from router to router with no problems.

compare a traceroute from your machine to the web servers to a colleagues? if you're taking a different path in then likely something along the way is the problem. Could be an internal core issue for one of the providers, post a traceroute and I'll have a glance...
