The url leads to a website that looks identical to the steam community website, and has a .tk extension. The account this guy which belonged to my friend obviously got stolen when he fell for the same trick. This is just a warning to all of you, i don't know how spread this is, but because i was talking to a real person it seems pretty localized at the moment.

Thanks for the warning. Should maybe be a sticky for a while. Most people would normally be sharp enough to not get done by this but after a mammoth l4d2 session my brain might be so melted that i'd get fooled!

same thing happened to me a few months back. Was a perfect replica of the steam homepage and it was for the l4d2 demo (didn't know there wasnt one at the time). I stupidly fell for it and then got my account stolen in the same way as your freind. man, its probably the same guy that stole my account. The website was also a .tk. Luckily I filed it with steam and got it back soon after.
