Never played Harvest Moon but played Animal Crossing and although someone said it was a bit like that, it's not really.
It's a very cool game that sounds like it's for kids (I have 2) but it can be quite demanding and I'm having lots of fun with it. Plus you can pick it up cheap in a lot of places now.

you always have to sacrifice something to get something else..worked for ages to get 2 lickatoads..then they had to be eaten by my syrupents..it was a hard pill to swallow as it had taken them ages just to turn up!
Anyways in response to the OP, to make a sherbat a resident you need to convert a sour I think. If youve done that then you need to have at least 3 mothdrops in the garden for another sherbat to visit then it has to eat 2 for it to reside.
Tulip seeds are for when you want the love magic to happen.
