Stream games in HD from gaming rig (upstairs) to living room TV (downstairs). Is this possible?

Hey guys I just got a shiny new Panasonic 32" full HD LED TV. Very happy with it. Of course now m wondering how good Just Cause 2 & other games will look on it :D

My gaming rig is upstairs and of course the TV is down in the living room. Could you lot advise me on what kinda gizmos (and what they are called) I would need to:

1. Make Windows 7 desktop appear on TV
2. Let me navigate Windows (like I was in front of the PC)
3. Also lets me play games on the TV
4. Allows use of Xbox controller etc.

Basically I want to come home from work, turn on PC, go downstairs, flop down on living room couch...and fire up a PC game..all on the TV. Will also mean I dont have to make my mates tramp upstairs al the time to show em games lol.

I guess some sort of "wireless HD" streaming hardware? Im a bit confused because Google brings back a lot of hits on streaming music, photos blah blah but I cant seem to locate stuff to send games in HD to a TV? Let alone letting you interface with the OS like you were sitting in front of it?

Thanx :o

Depending ont he positioning of your rooms/equip you could just run some cables and set the TV as a second cloned display?

I was thinking about that...it will look messy but if no other option I will have to. Do they make HD cables that long even lol 12 meters+? Will the signal suffer.. etc.

You could easily even rope together a couple of cables if you wanted, but it would be a pain in the backside to do. Best bet may be bluetooth mice/keyboard if you can get them.. Not quite sure though if they'd reach...

P.s. your 32" LED TV will look nowhere as good as a 1050x5040 Eyefinity set up :p Doubt it would even be able to scale that..

You know I was just wondering that....and Ive decided to haul the TV upstairs and hook it to rig just to see out of curiosity what the image looks like. Ive no doubt you are right and it will look bleh compared to Eyefinity.

I have to admit I guess Im doing this more for convenience when people come over...a kind of no-fuss "console-ly" experience!

Hmmm maybe I should forget this silly idea of mine...ok im draggin that Panasonic upstairs now!
