Streaming 4k

Hi guys i am after some advice please.

Below is what i use to stream movies and tv series, in the past 1080p and 3d movies has been fine with several people able to accsess the media server without probs.

In comes nice shiny new 4k tv a insurance replacement for my previous tv 1080p tv. i cannot for the life of me manage to stream 4k content it just constantly buffers, plays for a a min or two then buffers. any idea please guys.
All 4k content is stored on the media servers 2tb drive, with the rest on the nas, only i am currently accsessing the media server.

Can you stream 1080P to this new set OK?

I dont have a usb pen drive big enough.
and yes 1080p and 3d movies are fine.

Not trying to be silly here, i have no idea, i just installed the plex server and did not alter any plex settings.

How do i find that out ?

haveing the server transcode the 4ks does that mean the tv does not , and if i find the setting to allow the tv to do it wil the tv cope ?

No i am not using dlna.

and again sorry for the ignorance how would i find out the network utillisation on the server pls.

just a wee update.

I still cannot for the life of me get the web os 3 plex app to stream 4k content on my tv.

but using the web os3 pic/video app and browsing to the plex server then playing the film it all works ? lol, i have no idea why.

would a anazon fire tv player be a better option ? does anyone use one of these to play 4k content from a server ?. i woudl get one to test but i woudl nto want to waste my money. so if anyone has any ideas woudl be great.

i have dug intot he dlna setting and tried various settings,

mine was initialy set to false for both direct play and direct stream ? is that the ideal setting or do both of them need to be put to true ?

now when i am streaming via the video/pic app on web os 3 it connects to the plex media server and plays just fine. as soon as i try and use the inbuilt plex app no way will it play stable just judders and stutters. so im thinking it cannot be the plex server rather than the plex web os ap ? is there anyone with alg tv with web os 3 ?
