I use TVersity to stream from my PC to my xbox360 and to my tv...but how do I do it so that I can watch stuff on my laptop?

My PC is Vista 32 bit with TVersity
my laptop is an older laptop(just reinstalled XP pro)

what software would I need on my laptop?

most importantly....what do I do? How can I get my laptop to see and to get stuff from my PC?

what steps do I do???

Put what you want in a shared directory on your PC using password protected sharing. Then your laptop should be able to access those files.

ok I understand that....but how do I get my laptop to see the folder??? What application do I use or how do I do it?? :(

sorry such a noob question I know...

ok let me put it another way....

If I can get this working and get my girlfriend able to watch episodes of her tv shows on the laptop whilst she is in bed then I've basically been told she would be "so gratefull" and that I'm going to "get some" tonight...so you see my urgency for some assistance here lads ;)

You can stream direct to a 360 now without Tversity. As long as you have Media Player 11.

Go here and follow from step 2 unless you stream via wireless. Set your folders you want Media Player 11 to access and the 360 will access them also.

Job done, you dont even need to open Media Player to stream media. :)

With regards to the laptop, set up a Home Network and set your files on the pc you want the laptop to share and off you go and get your treats. ;)

it's an external hard drive that stores the media files (tv shows, films etc) and I can't seem to get the laptop view it. I can get the laptop to view the PUBLIC folder in mt C drive but not the external HD...any ideas???

it's not the 360 I'm needing to connect to Wiggins, but thanks anyway

If that fails, try this:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then double-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3. In the right pane, double-click restrictanonymous.
4. Make sure that the value in the Value data box is set to 0, and then click OK.
5. Close Registry Editor.
6. Restart the computer.

Only do this though if there is only your pc and laptop on the network as it allows all annonymous users to browse your files.
