Hi all,

I'm after something rather particular to my needs, but I have to assume there is something out there which can do it..

Basically I want to be able to stream live VGA output from my PC to another room and a TV screen. Something which could use the cat5 already in place would be great, but anything that allows me to view whats going on on the PC screen on the TV at the same time would be ace.

Oh and sound is pretty much essential too.

Anyone got any experience with this, and can recommend any products/software/kit/magic spells which I could use?

Thanks.

FYI, PC vid card has two outputs (GF7950GX2) and the TV has about every plug known to man. I imagine the largest boundry would be the resolution differences between my standard desktop (1280x1024) and the max of the TV. But there must be something which converts it etc etc etc etc etc. Anyway, hope someone can help.

i use a hdmi cable so sending the picture across to the t.v is straight forward...just set the video drivers to clone view so what is on the monitor gets duplicated on the t.v/secondary panel.
u can use s-video or composite connection too...u will need a pretty long cable or joins in between.

as for the audio ...enable 4 speaker surround in your audio card drivers/software and stick a jack plug in the rear speakers leading to the t.v.

you can select the resolution of your t.v/secondary panel when setting up the secondary display.

if u dont want to use cables then maybe u could try a video sender...it should work but ive never tried it..that also sends audio.

maybe there is a better way than the video sender as thats old technology but i can use cables so ive never really needed to transmit the images through air....maybe u could ask the guys at local electrical store that i cannot mention if they have anything more suited to your needs as the video sender would probably blur the image anyway.
