you know, i was pretty sick of it by the time ae came out. especially i started mvc3 a few months before that. i was already semi-retired since there was so much in marvel to be discovered. by the time umvc3 was out, i rarely play ae unless my friends came over or my brother wants to play and by then i have already retired.

i didnt really like it that much when the original sf4 came out anyway, i felt like the game is tamed and slow. i only played because of the hype and there was nothing else to play, also i havent played a fighting game online so that was kind of new. and then i find out about the really limited combo system and xbox live special wake up ultra and dp, mashing jabs, 360s and dps like their lifes are depending on it. at that point most of the fun is gone and it become purely grinding to beat arth, since he bodied me so bad and first time we played.

I still like the game don't get me wrong, I just don't like some of the broken aspects about it.

Anyway I've been trying Marvel (again) Zak was showing me some stuff the other day and explaining a lot that I didn't get before. I think I could get good at it if I can get past a few things that really annoy me about it.
 
wow you get to play with zak?! tell him he is godlike! i think he is the best player in europe.

what didnt you get? i might come down to wso to play some randoms and probably get bodied when i get paid.

I agree that the online game is infuriating to the point of annoyance. But its still a good game to play off line. I've popped to b'ham and Leicester recently and its still fun sitting down with the tourney nerves and seeing what people have got.
Its just a real shame that XBL seems to be horrendous atm. I swear it never used to be this bad. Even the PC version seems to create lag on the quickest of internet connections.

In theory SF4 was the first FG I actually (properly) learned so will be interesting to see how easy it is to pick up a 3D fighter next week with TTT2.
 
online have always been bad. i really would travel more if i have more money and time (i really hate traveling though, getting sick in the car and all:(). pc version have some sort of input lag it seem. even if i formatted the computer and only install ae, it still feels weird. combo timing seems harder and online matches feels even worst than the xbox.

am i the only person playing vf5? thats a really good game you know (i am really bad though:().

I'll try to get him to play you online next time I see him if you want :).
I really didnt get a lot like the general movement, assists and generally playing when not right next to my opponent. Thing is I really didn't know how much I didn't know (if that makes any sence).

in general you want to keep moving and flood the screen with hit boxes. and assist can help you do that. you should always use assist to cover your attacks, whether it is long range beam fight or close range mix-up. you want to treat assist an extension of your special move list and better yet, you can block and move around during this "special move". but you want to protect your assist (preferably with a projectile so you dont get hit out of it) and dont call assist during your opponents xfacor, because you can get happy birthday really easily in this game.

there is still lot i dont know too. whats your team? i am suspecting it to include dorm and doom missiles.
 
thats a very good team:) i like dorm first actually. if you can survive and get some space at the beginning of the match, you can spam morrigan assist to build meter and get some balls out to start charging while calling doom:) if he dies you still get morrigan with lots of meter which is also good.

morrigan fireball fly unfly is hard, although i can do it and some of her harder bnb online but i struggle if someone is teleporting everywhere because it messes up my inputs. yeah just give me a shout when you get on:)

you can try doing that but you wont go anywhere with it. heck you cant even do a "random" 4 button combo only do half life on one character in a THREE character game. so why bother complaining about how easy it is and just play the only game you can play. i hope you notice i wasnt even playing most of the time. i wasnt even looking at the screen and just pushing buttons while mashing dp.

In terms of sf just found a mid-screen unblockable with Fei Long, this game is just as dumb as Marvel.
 
well after every knock down, i can neither time a mk dive kick to cross up or stay at the front with the lk one, although sometimes that crosses up too. if i am smart i can os lunge punch after every dive kick so there is no escape. and after every dive kick its a another dive kick, low or kara command grab mix-up (auto frame trap if i messes up)...this guy, makoto, seth and viper are the only characters i like if i want to play this game and win.
