Stressed after confrontation

I'm just gobsmacked the police actually followed it up and gave him a talking to!

Anyway, as others have said, just forget it. The guy is obviously a bit of a nut-job and you did nothing wrong. I worked in customer service for a few years and had many a complete nutter go off on me like that. First time it bothered me a lot.........after a while I learned to shrug it off. Some people have issues - it's their problem, not yours.
i reckon they followed it up because he is known to them , nutjob hardman wanabees with renegade children usually are.

just ignore him OP , ignore the calls too if they do happen , then get a block put on , phoning back and rising to it just encourages kids.

Sounds like you handled this in the best way you can. The fella is unlikely to do anything as it's now on record, I feel sorry for you and your missus.

On this note, if you think this is plausible you could point social services at them. A particularly obnoxious child coupled with a headcase for a father means domestic violence is possible.

Alternatively if you'd just like some form of vengeance, pitching social services at them stands a decent chance of inconveniencing him either way.

That isn't a very nice thing to do. When I was a young kid, one of the downstairs neighbours called social services (well we are 99% sure it was him) stating that I was roaming the streets late at night and causing trouble.

Got visited by social services to check up on me and just so happens the day the visit, I was off from school ill. Was ok in the end, social services women told my mum that she could see I was well looked after etc but it really upset my parents, just getting that visit.

go round his house and falcon punch his wife and cat all the way to the mortuary !!! All else failing get him branded as a Paedo by paying some local kids to spread extremely malicious rumours. He'll soon be moving areas after that kicks off.

Carry a knife, problem solved

no... that means going hand to hand, army training may give him upper-hand, I suggest 9 iron or sand-wedge, slight more reach and a good crack to the knee cap will keep him honest without having to explain to the old bill why you had a knife on you. Golf clubs are easy to explain away, 'I was on my way to the pitch and putt gov !!!'

Since he's ex-army if he comes around to your house play war sounds from a loud boombox, the horrific memories pouring back may cause him to break down and weep.

Alternatively he might go into a raging bloodlust. Tough call.

OP your story reads well.
You did the right thing, and it is nice to see the police taking an interest, checking his background, and then going to have a word with him.
Good work all around.

Now that he knows that you aren't afraid to contact the Police and that the Police are aware of his threats, I think you are safe. It's just a matter of relaxing now and forgetting about it.

Even hard men like that are afraid of punishment.

Use his number and address in a reply to a 419 scam, put it on a seedy contact site, any seedy site or scam site, and im sure a 1001 combinations of the above and more can be used.

Some people are just nutters, you can go through your entire life being perfectly decent to everyone you meet and still come across some loons.
