Stringy stuff Help

Evening all

I bought my wife a Bambu A1 Mini with AMS, We're not sure what setting were missing when printing, every print seems to be stringy at points and the final layer has this a lot...

The pic below is mid print

Any help appreciated please

Get a drier, they're not expensive, and when you store it use dessicant (and change it/dry it out when it's absorbed water)

Yup, filament absorbs moisture and often results in stringing. Buy a dryer or even just DIY one that sits on your printer bed

What filament type is that? TPU gets very stringy if the print settings aren't spot on!

Unlikely TPU with an A1 mini. I'll admit I've never dried filament, the worst it ever got was with PETG

What filament are you using?

If it’s PETG - PETG likes to absorb moisture naturally, and when you feed this moist filament through your printer and it reaches 200°, that moister instantly boils and leads to pops and strings like in your photo.

PLA absorbs moisture at a much slower rate, so usually you don’t have to dry it, but it can still happen.

A £30 Sunlu dryer from Amazon will do the job for PETG and PLA, put your filament in it overnight and then use the little hole on the front to feed the filament through and print directly from the printer
